This 10 Days Uganda safari is a perfect option for adventurers looking for a somewhat long trip yet midrange price, since Uganda is one of Africa’s least expensive safari destinations. The safari gives you a chance to see different species of wildlife, watch both the top and bottom of the Murchison Falls, enjoy Kidepo’s wilderness, and raft on the world’s longest river – the Nile.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda

This day, you will arrive at Entebbe International Airport, be met by our representative who will transfer you to your accommodation in Entebbe or Kampala. Before the driver/guide departs from the hotel, you will be briefed about the whole itinerary.

Day 2: Visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, drive to Murchison Falls National Park

You will wake up by 6:30, have breakfast at the hotel and check out. Set off to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you will arrive by noon, go for a guided walk to see the rhinos and learn more about conservation in this place. You may also spot other wildlife and several bird species. Currently, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the only place in Uganda to view wild rhinos.

After the trek, have lunch and proceed to Murchison Falls National Park where you will arrive in the evening, have a short game drive and drive to the lodge.

Day 3:  Explore Murchison Falls National Park

You will rise up early, enjoy your breakfast and drive to the plains for wildlife viewing. The game drive lasts for about 4 hours and gives a chance to see hippos as they return to the waters after feeding, early grazers including the buffaloes, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeest and many others. Good chances of spotting lions, leopard or hyena. On return to the lodge, you will have lunch, and go for the afternoon boat cruise. The boat cruise takes you enjoying views of both the spectacular Murchison waterfalls and wildlife.

From here, you will drive to the lodge and enjoy the evening at relaxation.

Day 4: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Today is another day for a somewhat long drive. It will start with a visit of the top of the falls where you will enjoy the sounds and the views of the scenery. From here, set off to Kidepo.

Transferring from Murchison falls national Park to Kidepo Valley national park will take you about 6 hours on the road. You will have an enroute lunch, arrive at the lodge in the evening and check in.

Day 5: Game drive and afternoon community visit

Rise up early, have breakfast and get ready for the game drive by 6:30 am. Game drives in Kidepo Valley National Park will allow you to see elephants, zebras, antelopes and have a chance to spot the lions. The park is home to cheetahs and on a good day, it can be sighted.

It also allows scenic viewing and later a community tour in the Karimojong village close to the park.

Day 6: Transfer to Kapchorwa – Sipi Falls, evening community tour

You will depart from Kidepo in the morning and arrive in Kapchorwa in the afternoon. Check in to your hotel, relax and later head out to the community for a moment with the locals. You will have an experience of local coffee preparation and tasting. If you are a coffee lover, get ready for this moment of tasing organically made coffee.

Return to the hotel, have dinner and rest.

Day 7: Visit Sipi Falls and Transfer to Jinja

Starting your day with morning coffee, you will later head for a hike to Sipi falls in Kapchorwa. This is a series of three waterfalls that lie on the edge of Mount Elgon National Park in Eastern Uganda. The hike takes you through a local village where you will see how the locals spend their mornings. After the hike you will return to the hotel, have lunch and later set off to Jinja, the adventure capital of East Africa.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge in Jinja. 

Day 8: Quad biking and boat cruise

After breakfast, you will go for the day’s adventure starting with quad biking which commences with a training and briefing on safety precautions. The 1-2 hours ride takes you through farms and small villages where you will meet and see people go on with their daily life.

In the afternoon, you will go for a boat cruise to the source of the Nile and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Meal plan: Full board.  

Day 9: White water rafting on River Nile

Today is a day of a thrilling adventure – whitewater rafting on the Nile. After breakfast, transfer to the starting point, meet with the rafting team that will take you through a rafting briefing session to help you familiarize yourself with the rafting experience. By this time, you should know your choice of the grade of rapids you will go for, between grade 3 and grade 5 rapids. After half day of the rafting, you will return to the lodge, have dinner and rest. Alternatively, you can do the full day rafting.

Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 10: Return to Entebbe

On this last day of your safari, you will set off from Jinja in the morning after breakfast and arrive in Entebbe at noon. Drive straight Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.

End of safari.
